Crystal Palace decided to loan Jesurun Rak-Sakyi to Sheffield United for the 2024/25 campaign back in August.
It was actually one of the more tense transfer sagas at Selhurst Park during the summer, as Rak-Sakyi wanted to join Southampton permanently at one stage, following a £12m bid from the Saints.
Fortunately, we did not end up losing the 21-year-old for good.
Leeds United also wanted Rak-Sakyi on loan, but after Sheffield United won the race to sign the Crystal Palace wonderkid temporarily, let’s take a look at how he’s getting on at Bramall Lane.
Jesurun Rak-Sakyi impressing for Sheffield United
Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has started four of Sheffield United’s seven Championship games so far this season, and while he is yet to score or assist, he is certainly making an impact down the right flank.
As SofaScore shows, the England U20 international is certainly learning the defensive side of the game under Chris Wilder, making 1.5 tackles per game in the Championship this term, along with two ball recoveries every 90 minutes.

In an attacking sense, Rak-Sakyi is completing an average of 1.2 dribbles per game, along with 0.5 key passes and 1.2 shots per match.
Some Sheffield United fans have clearly enjoyed what they’ve seen from the winger, judging by their reactions on X (previously known as Twitter).
With Rak-Sakyi, who spoke to Dean Henderson about this move, starting the majority of their games, Sheffield United remain unbeaten after seven outings in the Championship this season, helping the Blades sit sixth.

Can Crystal Palace recall Rak-Sakyi?
Many Crystal Palace fans have been wondering whether the man from Southwark can be brought back to Selhurst Park before the 2024/25 campaign is over, with Oliver Glasner in desperate need of a left footed attacker to provide balance to his attack after losing Michael Olise.
As it happens, Crystal Palace can recall Rak-Sakyi if those in SE25 feel the need to.
That is according to Dom Smith of the Evening Standard – who added in the comments section that Sheffield United would receive some of the loan fee back if Crystal Palace did make that call.
In our view, this is an option which should be considered in January if our lack of attacking cohesion remains, with the frontline looking very clunky at the moment, with too many right footed forwards occupying similar areas.
Glasner has seen his side score just five goals in six Premier League games so far – only Southampton in 19th place have fewer with three – a dismal run which has left us 18th.

Hopefully, we explore the option to recall Rak-Sakyi if he continues to impress at Sheffield United.
