Crystal Palace have money pouring in from all angles.
The UEFA Conference League win – and subsequent qualification for the UEFA Europa League – is expected to bank just under £30m in total for the Eagles.
Not only that, but the fact 12 Crystal Palace players are going to the World Cup means FIFA are set to issue a “serious” compensation package.
Now – according to the Telegraph – Real Madrid are plotting a £130m bid for Michael Olise, a move which would bring more cash to Selhurst Park.
What was your favourite part about the trip to Leipzig? 🇩🇪
Crystal Palace could make almost £20m from Michael Olise
When the France international signed for Bayern Munich in a £50.8m deal back in July 2024, Dougie Freedman ensured a 15% sell-on clause was included in the terms.
The Telegraph say Florentino Pérez is now targeting a £130m move for Olise, as the 79-year-old attempts to remain President of Real Madrid during the elections process and appease fans.
Should this £130m transfer actually materialise, it would see Crystal Palace bank £19.5m from that 15% sell-on clause.
That is a substantial amount of cash to make from a mere sell-on clause, but it just goes to show how well Olise has developed since leaving SE25.
The Bayern Munich No.17 remarkably netted 22 goals and provided 31 assists in 52 appearances last season, form which absolutely justifies a £130m price tag – especially considering he is still only 24 years of age.
Considering Jaydee Canvot cost £16m, while Adam Wharton was £18m and Daniel Munoz only £7m, there is no reason why this potential £19.5m cash injection cannot be put towards one or two very good signings this summer.
Where do you think we can finish in the UEFA Europa League next season after victory in Leipzig? 🤔
If Nottingham Forest can reach the last four while in a relegation battle, surely we can at least make the final? 👀
Having been on the brink of extinction after entering administration just over 16 years ago, it feels quite surreal to see Crystal Palace now in an incredibly healthy financial situation, while also winning silverware to boot.
