Crystal Palace’s poor start to the season continued on Saturday, with Daichi Kamada once again disappointing.
For the Eagles, the nightmare start to this season has continued with Oliver Glasner’s side winless after six games.
The latest result of all was a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Everton – which saw the Toffees move ahead of the Eagles in the league table.

Into the relegation zone, and as we approach the quarter-mark of the season, concerns are now becoming rife.
Now, Italian media have been discussing one of Crystal Palace’s summer additions and pointing out how bad the move was.
Italian press label Daichi Kamada ‘terrible’
The arguable biggest failure of Dougie Freedman’s summer was his inability to effectively replace Michael Olise.

Daichi Kamada was one player signed by the Eagles to fill this gap and so far he’s been a bit of a disaster.

Now, it has been suggested by Lazio News 24 that failing to sign Kamada to a new contract in the summer was the right decision.
In the piece, the local outlet for Lazio slammed Kamada as having been ‘terrible’ since moving to Crystal Palace. The outlet continued that the Japan international had been ‘anything but brilliant’ in red and blue.
It was also claimed that Lazio are glad they didn’t end up signing Kamada.

Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise replacement is struggling
Despite being signed to help deal with the departure of Olise, Glasner has instead decided to use Kamada deeper, as a central midfielder.
This is a role he has struggled in as for all of his on-ball ability, he struggles defensively and is often dribbled past – while he has also been culpable for giving the ball away in dangerous positions.
Kamada can hardly take all the blame for his struggles though as he likely signed on to be a number 10.
Replacing Olise with a player like Kamada is part of the reason the Eagles have struggled so much this season so far.
