Oliver Glasner might finally have some good news heading his way, with a potential injury boost.

Practically nothing has gone right for Crystal Palace this season to date and fitness has been among the problems. Adam Wharton has been playing through the pain, but withdrew from England U21 duty and Matheus Franca has yet to feature after repeated injury problems.

Trevoh Chalobah has also suffered from injuries at certain times, while Cheick Doucoure has missed a few weeks after his frustrations continued.

Prior to the International break, Daniel Munoz joined the injury list and missed out on joining Jefferson Lerma in action for Colombia.

Now, two are hopefully set to return on Monday night against Nottingham Forest.

Crystal Palace hoping Daniel Munoz and Cheick Doucoure will return vs Forest

The Eagles have kicked off the season with seven successive winless games – which leaves Crystal Palace 18th in the league.

However, after improvements against Liverpool, we are hopeful that Oliver Glasner could finally get some points on the board this coming Monday and now he will reportedly have some additional reinforcements for the game.

This comes according to South London Press which reports that Crystal Palace are now feeling hopeful that both Doucoure and Munoz will be available to return this coming match-day.

This would be a massive boost for Glasner in the search for a first win of the season – with Munoz starting every game since Glasner took over in South London.

In particular, Munoz’s fitness will be huge considering he is the only natural option for the right wing-back option and his injury was prompting a complete formation change by Glasner.

Oliver Glasner will be absolutely thrilled

The return of both Doucoure and Munoz will delight Glasner considering his options to replace the pair were looking slim to face Forest.

For Doucoure it is more that his availability could allow Wharton the rest and break from playing he needs – following his awful performance against Liverpool.

If Munoz was out, Glasner would have had to turn to the academy with Caleb Kporha as a possible option, while another would have been Irish youngster Franco Umeh.

If the Eagles can play in a similar fashion to the second half against Liverpool, win number one could be on the cards this weekend.
