Oliver Glasner has now addressed Crystal Palace supporters who feel betrayed by his move to Nottingham Forest.
A large number of Crystal Palace fans are upset about the Austrian’s decision to replace Vitor Pereira at the City Ground, considering the fallout between the Eagles and Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2025.
Glasner has now sent a message to those angered about his choice, and the 51-year-old has hit the nail on the head.
Has Oliver Glasner ruined his Crystal Palace legacy by moving to Nottingham Forest? 🤔
Oliver Glasner admits he hopes Crystal Palace fans do not turn against him
Speaking in his first press conference in charge of Nottingham Forest, the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss said: “First of all, I want to mention this because it’s nothing new. I had two-and-a-half fantastic years at Crystal Palace.
“I am really pleased I was part of that journey, but for me it’s a new chapter. It’s about the project, the ambition and the vision. For me, if it is possible to exceed the expectations, then that is great.”
When directly asked if he thinks he has ruined his legacy at Crystal Palace, Glasner added: “I don’t know. I will repeat that I am really pleased and grateful that I was part of that wonderful journey. There are players at Bayern, Arsenal and Fulham who were part of that journey, too. It is just part of life.
“We created memories, that’s what I’m really proud of. I’m still in touch with a lot of my former players. I hope it doesn’t happen (backlash from Crystal Palace fans) because I hope they appreciate that I gave 100% of myself, because that is all I can promise.”

We Are Palace recently opined that Glasner should not be booed when he returns to Selhurst Park with Nottingham Forest on October 10th – for similar reasons to what the Austrian laid out in his press conference.
The man born in Salzburg signed a contract, fulfilled that contract in some fashion by winning three trophies along the way, and left Crystal Palace in a significantly better position than the miserable state we were in when he replaced Roy Hodgson in February 2024.

In that respect, Glasner should be allowed to do as he pleases in his career – after delivering several famous days that will last a lifetime to Crystal Palace fans.
