Crystal Palace have suffered a handful of blows lately, now it seems that one target is close to making the move amid a new hint.
The past few days of the transfer window haven’t been great reading for Crystal Palace fans, with blow after blow. Emile Smith Rowe was first as he looks likely to sign for Fulham opposed to the Eagles.
Then on Thursday, it came out that Ryan Sessegnon would be joining Fulham too, despite training with Palace for weeks.
However, amid these negatives, Dougie Freedman looks to be getting closer and closer to signing his Michael Olise replacement.
Now, the target’s club has dropped a new hint that a deal could soon be done.

Ismaila Sarr left out by Roberto De Zerbi
Crystal Palace are closing in on signing Ismaila Sarr from Marseille this summer, and after agreeing personal terms there has now been a huge hint by his club.
We reported earlier this week that the Eagles had submitted a second bid for Sarr, with Fabrizio Romano saying “deal on”.
Now, as Roberto De Zerbi and Marseille gear up for the new season, it seems Sarr isn’t even being considered as part of it.
Marseille faced Toulon on Wednesday evening and in the game, Sarr was nowhere to be seen, replaced in the starting line-up by Mason Greenwood.
In the highlights video Marseille posted, he was also nowhere to be seen. This follows on from the fact new signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has taken his No.23 shirt, all signs point toward this move being done soon.
Is signing Ismaila Sarr enough?
After selling Olise, it became imperative that new wingers were brought to Selhurst Park, and now it looks like it’ll be Sarr who arrives.
But is the Senegalese winger on his own enough?
Signing Sarr would give Palace a solid group to choose from in the two wide positions.
On the right, Sarr would join Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Jordan Ayew. Meanwhile, the left side still has Ebere Eze who is supported by Jeffrey Schlupp and Matheus Franca.
When these options are laid out, it’s fair to say one more quality addition wouldn’t go amiss, with plenty of risk in the six names we mentioned.
Alternatively, perhaps Franco Umeh will be the wildcard option, he’s certainly good enough.
