Crystal Palace are back in the relegation zone after being defeated 2-0 by Fulham on Saturday.

As December draws close, the Eagles are still trying to escape the relegation zone but find themselves firmly back in the bottom three.

Following the 2-0 loss against Fulham things are looking more concerning than they have at any point this campaign as Crystal Palace now faces a tough run of games – including Aston Villa and Man City in the next four games.

Oliver Glasner still retains the backing of the Crystal Palace hierarchy, however, this string he is still being given is not endless and things need to improve.

At this rate, Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace are on track to achieve around 24 points this season – a figure which would almost certainly ensure relegation.

Now, the Eagles’ chances of succumbing to relegation have been outlined – and it’s bad news.

How likely are Crystal Palace to be relegated this season

This season, the form that Crystal Palace have shown would almost guarantee a drop into the Championship and financial peril.

But what are the chances of relegation coming to fruition for the Eagles this season?

Back in early October, Crystal Palace were given just a 10.10% chance of relegation by Opta – which at the time came when the Eagles were winless in six games.

However, now we stand five games on and the chance of relegation has risen as the Eagles sit 18th.

Now, Opta has updated their predicted Premier League table and in this, the chances of relegation have risen to a whopping 17.3% chance – which will be concerning for Glasner as it continues to trend in the wrong direction.

Ally McCoist shares verdict on Eagles relegation

For the Eagles, there are still five teams who are positioned as more likely to get relegated, but Glasner will want to get that percentage back towards single digits again and quickly.

But for talkSPORT’s Ally McCoist, Crystal Palace should be fine – as he confidently told one fan on Tuesday.

“I think you will be alright, John, for what it’s worth. You have got too much quality in the squad. I think you will be fine.”

The Eagles should survive based on the squad quality and Glasner’s ability as a manager – but in order to make things less stressful, it would be appreciated if Crystal Palace could pick up some more points soon.
