Crystal Palace could have as many as four debutants this weekend against Leicester City.

After a flurry of transfer business from Crystal Palace on deadline day, four players will now be hopeful of being named in the starting line-up this Saturday against the Foxes.

Eddie Nketiah arrived in a £25m deal from Arsenal, while Maxence Lacroix was finally brought in from Wolfsburg for around £18m.

The addition of Matt Turner strengthens the goalkeeping department and finally Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah joined on a season-long loan after being linked in January.

What Oliver Glasner told Trevoh Chalobah after he joined from Chelsea

Trevoh Chalobah is a long-term target for the Eagles, so securing his signature will be a welcome boost at the end of the transfer window.

The centre-back has already wowed coaches in training, with Chalobah putting in a marvellous finish to score in front of Paddy McCarthy, demonstrating he is more than just a defender.

Chalobah saw his name spelt wrong by the club during a recent training video, but now he has finally had his first interview with the club since arriving.

During this interview with club media, Chalobah explained what Glasner told him upon his arrival from the Blues: “He’s welcomed me nicely.

“He’s just [said] to show my qualities, my defensive qualities, and help boost the back line, and hopefully we can keep as many clean sheets [as possible].”

Chalobah is a superb talent and Crystal Palace will be wondering how they’ve managed to pick him up on a loan considering there was interest from the likes of Manchester United over a permanent deal.

It could be an inspired move, although the Eagles may be left wishing a buy option was involved.

Crystal Palace could be immense defensively

Glasner has already made Crystal Palace a very strong defensive unit, and yet now he has even better pieces to put into the back five.

Chalobah is a superb defender and Chelsea was wrong to force him out, meanwhile, Lacroix and Guehi are also both excellent at what they do.

The options do not stop there with Chris Richards and Chadi Riad both involved as well which gives Glasner five strong options in a position he needs three in – a far better ratio than the end of last season with just Joachim Andersen and Richards as options.

The Eagles have conceded five goals this season already with a -3 goal difference which is something Glasner will want to fix immediately after the break.

There is no better way to do that than by thrashing the side above us this weekend.
