Whether Crystal Palace will recall David Ozoh from Derby County amid continual injury issues

Several of Crystal Palace’s loanees have been struggling lately and David Ozoh’s time at Derby has been no different.

The Eagles’ loan manager Mark Bright should rightly be under intense scrutiny with multiple loan moves this season becoming complete disasters.

Odsonne Edouard has struggled to play at Leicester, which prompted Oliver Glasner to issue a brutal response to rumoured he could be recalled.

Naouirou Ahamada has also had a woeful campaign with Rennes, not playing a single minute for their senior team.

Malcolm Ebiowei has also struggled, but for young midfielder David Ozoh, it has been less a struggle and more a frustrating few injury-riddled months.

Will Crystal Palace recall David Ozoh?

Given the struggles offensively from Crystal Palace, recalling loanees has been touted as an option.

Edouard is one which does not look like it will happen, while Jesurun Rak-Sakyi’s form has led to fans suggesting he be recalled.

Chris Wilder has ruled this out. Now considering Ozoh’s struggles at Derby, could there be a chance he finds himself on a list to be recalled?

Well according to Derbyshire Live, the 19-year-old will not be returning to Crystal Palace until June when his loan was originally supposed to come to a conclusion.

Ozoh will remain at Derby despite not having played since September as the hope is he will be fit soon and can pick up where he left off – after impressing up until his injury.

The correct decision from Dougie Freedman

Recalling Ozoh would be a terrible decision from Dougie Freedman and Steve Parish, with the teenager shining for Derby prior to his injury.

Ozoh had been getting regular minutes and shining for the Rams, including his goal against Bristol City which came in a man of the match performance.

Recalling Ozoh would risk him not playing under Oliver Glasner, and also if sending him back on loan elsewhere was the plan then it could see his next club less of an ideal fit.

By leaving Ozoh at Derby, he can continue his recovery and hopefully get back to playing football under a manager we know rates him and will get the best out of him.
