Crystal Palace will not be hosting a friendly at Selhurst Park this summer.
Typically, the Eagles hold at least one friendly match at Selhurst Park during pre-season, normally as the final game before the 2026/27 campaign officially gets underway.
However – according to the Daily Mail – no such fixture will be taking place in SE25 this summer due to construction work.
Crystal Palace’s fixtures are out for the 2026/27 season! Which game are you most excited for? 🤔
Selhurst Park redevelopment means Crystal Palace will not play a friendly at home
Work has now started on the redevelopment of Selhurst Park, as Crystal Palace begin to knock down the six houses on Wooderson Close and lay the foundations for the new Main Stand.
The Athletic believe the entire job will take two-and-a-half years with completion expected by February 2029, and the Main Stand will remain open to fans for the entirety of the redevelopment.
However, construction work does mean a friendly cannot take place at Selhurst Park this summer.
Instead, Pierre Sage will take his Crystal Palace squad to Germany for a friendly against Freiburg in the final match before the new Premier League season begins.
That match comes after friendlies against Swindon Town on July 18th and then Bromley in England before a trip to Lake Como, where Crystal Palace will play two 45-minute matches and one 90-minute game.
Sage may reunite with RC Lens in Como after guiding the French side to the Coupe de France last term.

It means the Eagles will be doing a lot of travelling throughout pre-season, but with plenty of European trips to come in the UEFA Europa League next term, it is probably best for Crystal Palace to get accustomed to long journeys.
Having said that, it might be wise for Sage to leave Daichi Kamada out of pre-season at times.
The Japan international – who is close to signing a new contract – suggested that he is suffering from fatigue after Brazil knocked his nation out of the World Cup.
