Crystal Palace have a lot of work to do this summer, which could mean they turn to free signings, here’s five possibilities.
This summer is going to be a defining one for Oliver Glasner at Selhurst Park with several key positions needing attention.
With multiple signings needed, it would make sense that free signings could make it easier for Crystal Palace.
Dougie Freedman will manage to make his budget stretch a lot further too with some free signings arriving.
Here are five players that the Eagles could sign for free this summer…

Daichi Kamada
The first player on this list is one that Glasner will know well from his time at Frankfurt as the pair won the UEFA Europa League together in 2022.
Since then, Daichi Kamada has moved to Lazio where it hasn’t quite worked out for him, but Palace would be insane to pass up on the chance to sign Kamada this summer for free.
The Japanese international is a 27-year-old attacking midfielder which could see him slot perfectly into Glasner’s team with the hopes he could replicate his 179-appearance career at Frankfurt which brought 73 goal contributions.
Lloyd Kelly
If Palace are to lose some of their defensive ranks this summer, significant reinforcements will be needed and Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly could be an excellent option for free.
A proven Premier League-level defender who has previously drawn interest from Liverpool, so he’d be an excellent addition for Glasner.
Kelly could really bolster the ranks if Marc Guehi is to depart and for free would mean Palace could save cash to strengthen elsewhere.
Alex Berenguer
One player that Palace have actually been linked with recently for a free transfer move this summer is Spanish winger Alex Berenguer.
The Athletic Bilbao winger would be a solid signing considering he’d be a free transfer and has been enjoying a decent season.
26 appearances for the Spanish side this campaign have brought him six goals and two assists which is a solid tally considering he’s only played 43 per cent of the minutes.
A solid option to strengthen the left side of the attack but a player no doubt better suited to being on the bench.
Juan Miranda
One position which could be on the cards for an upgrade is the left wing-back slot for Glasner’s side.
This summer, Freedman could sign Real Betis’ Juan Miranda for free which could be an excellent signing and leave the squad with two excellent left wing-backs to compete with each other.
Miranda will bring a lot of technical security to the left-back position and could better suit what Glasner will ask of the role than Tyrick Mitchell. A no-brainer.
Che Adams
The final name on this list is Southampton’s Che Adams who has been linked with a Palace move in the past.
Adams has been in the Championship this season but has a vast amount of experience in the Premier League which could make him a solid signing up front this summer.
This season he’s grabbed 10 goals in 30 games, but Glasner will likely think he can get Adams firing on a similar level back in the top division.
Not the glamour signing up front that many crave, but a solid one nonetheless.
