Steve Cooper is favourite to become Crystal Palace’s new manager – his arrival could be absolutely huge in luring Jadon Sancho to Selhurst Park.
Former Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper looks the favourite to become the new Crystal Palace manager at some point in 2024.
Cooper has been available since mid-December – but after he departed Forest, he was immediately linked with Palace.
Reports the day after suggested he was in talks with Palace over replacing Hodgson at the helm.
The possible arrival of Cooper’s has got fans excited for a host of reasons – one reason however which has slipped under the radar and that is the players he could lure to the club.
One man who could potentially be on the cards with Cooper is the ‘brilliant‘ talent that is Jadon Sancho.

Sancho has been out of the picture at Old Trafford since a September argument with Erik ten Hag – which led to him training with the under-18s.
The English winger has since been almost guaranteed to depart United and Selhurst Park could become an extremely attractive proposition to him if Cooper was to arrive..
In September – Sancho was said to have identified Nottingham Forest as a possible destination. The sole reason being due to his relationship with Cooper from their England U21 days.
So Cooper joining Palace could open the door for Sancho to arrive at the club. A signing which would leave Palace with one of the league’s most exciting front threes.
Although a deal could be scuppered before Cooper even gets a chance at Palace with Borussia Dortmund now favourites to land Sancho. However, if Cooper arrived at Palace soon, he could convince Sancho to come for guaranteed Premier League minutes in London – which could be appealing given the club have a history of improving English players on loan in Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus Cheek.
Sancho would join an exciting frontline
The arrival of Sancho would leave Palace with an exhilarating front three consisting of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.
All three players are extremely technical and skilful on the ball – three players that neutrals would definitely be tuning in to watch.
It’s a trio which could go down in the history books for some of the excellent football it could see played.
Cooper would be the catalyst in creating an attack we are sure every Palace fan would want to see in red and blue.
