After yet another winless weekend for Crystal Palace, attacking reinforcements continue to be on the lips of Eagles supporters.

At Villa Park on Saturday, Oliver Glasner will have been left feeling like his side threw away two points after twice dropping the lead as Crystal Palace drew 2-2 with Aston Villa.

With this, the Eagles saw themselves slip to 19th in the league, remaining the joint second-lowest-scoring team in the Premier League.

The result however did bring some positivity with Justin Devenny scoring his first Crystal Palace goal. While Ismaila Sarr announced himself as a key cog in the team.

However, with the attack still poor and the depth in particular being exposed – now the Eagles are looking to add an exciting Argentine forward.

Crystal Palace leading the Angel Correa race

With just 10 goals in 12 Premier League games this season, fresh ideas in the forward line would be welcomed – and now it is being reported the Eagles could go shopping for this in Madrid.

This comes according to Italian outlet Tutto Juve, who report that Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa is wanted by Juventus and Fiorentina along with the Eagles.

The report claims Correa is ‘more Crystal Palace‘ than any other club which suggests that Dougie Freedman and Co are leading the race.

Due to Correa’s struggle for game time this season, a winter escape to Selhurst Park could appeal – however, the report makes no mention of whether he would be keen on a move nor of Atletico’s willingness.

Correa is the latest forward to be linked, following the likes of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich and also Reims youngster Oumar Diakite.

What Diego Simone has said about Correa

Correa may be struggling this season, but he has not dipped below 10 goals and assists in La Liga since the 2018/19 season.

This explains perfectly why Diego Simeone is such a big fan of the Argentine, as he raved to BeIn Sports earlier this month.

“When he enters the field, things always happen. We know how important he is for us, the ‘12’ of the team. He’s called Ángel for a reason.”

As a player, the Eagles would be getting a player who back in 2014 was tipped to be the ‘new Sergio Aguero’ as reported by the Daily Mail – costing just £6m at the time.

Correa also brings something the Eagles don’t have, as he can easily play across the front line in all three positions.
