The transfer window is truly starting to warm up for Crystal Palace as we approach the final week until deadline day on Friday 30th August.
On Wednesday morning, Crystal Palace made an undisclosed offer to sign Tomas Araujo from Benfica – with that news emerging after Fulham agreed to buy Joachim Andersen in a £30m deal.
Interestingly, Dougie Freedman also made a £14m bid for VfL Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix – suggesting that Marc Guehi could still follow the Denmark international out of Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace hoping to sign Louie Moulden
A story from the South London Press now states that Crystal Palace are trying to bring Louie Moulden to Selhurst Park after he was released by Wolves – Wolverhampton Wanderers, that is.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper boasts strong experience in the English Football League, having played for Ebbsfleet United, Solihull Moors, Rochdale and Northampton Town while on loan from Molineux.
It is said that Crystal Palace intend to add Moulden into the academy after allowing both Joe Whitworth and Owen Goodman to join Exeter City and AFC Wimbledon on loan respectively.
However – in our view at least – the man from Bolton could even find himself involved in Oliver Glasner’s squad, as Sam Johnstone has asked to leave Crystal Palace this summer.
Should the England international depart, the Eagles would be left with just Dean Henderson and Remi Matthews in the goalkeeping department, with Premier League sides usually having at least three goalkeeping options.
Moulden has made 133 appearances throughout his career so far – keeping 27 clean sheets.
One target has slipped away
We opine that Moulden could join Glasner’s squad rather than the academy, because one goalkeeper Freedman wanted as a potential replacement for Johnstone has now moved elsewhere.
It was said that Crystal Palace wanted to sign Michael Cooper from Plymouth Argyle as a replacement for the England international, although the 24-year-old has since joined Sheffield United.
It remains to be seen if Freedman had any senior alternatives to Cooper, so if Moulden is the only goalkeeper to arrive before the transfer window ends, it can be assumed that he is viewed as a first-team option internally at Selhurst Park.
