Crystal Palace are reportedly preparing to make an offer for one exciting Arsenal forward this summer.
Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace have already been busy in the transfer market this summer as the club look to progress under the Austrian.
Palace confirmed the free agent signing of Daichi Kamada this month and defender Chadi Riad has also joined the Eagles from La Liga side Real Betis.
However, this summer the club have already lost Michael Olise, who joined Bayern Munich in a deal earlier this month.
A replacement for Olise has been sought after with Palace seeing a £12 million offer for Marcus Edwards rejected.
Palace set to make Emile Smith Rowe offer
According to a post on X from Fabrizio Romano, Palace are preparing to enter the race to sign English winger Emile Smith-Rowe.
London rivals Fulham had reportedly also made an offer for the Arsenal forward but that bid was rejected and now Palace could be about to enter the race with an offer of their own.
Romano goes on to say that Glasner is a big fan of Smith Rowe’s and is keen for the club to land the Englishman who has found his playing time at the Emirates Stadium hard to come by.
With Martin Odegaard the captain in the number 10 role, with Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli on the left, it’s been hard for Smith-Rowe to break in and this is where Palace have to take advantage.
Smith-Rowe could be perfect Olise replacement for Palace
Trying to replace the French winger was never going to be an easy task but the Eagles already have some good options to replace Olise.
However, none of these options quite bring that X-factor that Smith-Rowe would bring and the signing of the Englishman could be very astute.
According to a report from HITC, Arsenal have set a price tag of £35 million on Smith Rowe’s head and with the Olise money, this would surely be a simple deal to do.
Despite Arsenal’s reported willingness to sell Smith Rowe, Mikel Arteta, back in April, admitted he loved Smith Rowe in an interview with The Metro.
“I was really impressed with him,” Arteta said of Smith Rowe. “He has been training really well and we felt the game could suit us.
“I love him as a player, it is a joy to watch how he moves and how he changes direction.”
