Crystal Palace could soon add a talented midfielder to the ranks at Selhurst Park following the injury woes of Adam Wharton this season.
On paper, the midfield department at Crystal Palace is arguably the strongest position the club have.
Three of the four are considered top midfield talents, however, this trio has struggled with injury woes this season, which makes the need for an addition great.
Wharton has struggled with injury which has been a particular blow, however after surgery, he should be back at his best upon returning.
Due to this, now Dougie Freedman is looking to add a new option to Oliver Glasner’s ranks in central midfield.

Crystal Palace could sign Nicolo Fagioli
The Eagles midfield has been missing class this season, with the current crop not being brave enough on the ball when given the chance at Selhurst Park.
If Crystal Palace are to evolve into a possession team under Glasner, he will need midfielders like Nicolo Fagioli.
Well, according to Tutto Juve, Juventus’ 23-year-old midfielder, Fagioli, is the target for multiple clubs.
According to the report, Crystal Palace are one club now rivalling Tottenham and Marseille for the Italian’s signature.
While GiveMeSport has reported that Juventus would ask for a fee of around £20m.
Andrea Pirlo compared midfielder could light up Selhurst Park
The kind of midfielder Fagioli is was best described by his former manager at Juventus, Andrea Pirlo who spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport back in 2023.
“The biggest leap was made by Fagioli, who made his debut with me.”
Pirlo then elaborated and compared Fagiloi to himself: “He knows how to do everything and is a cornerstone of Juve and has the qualities to excel in directing play. He could be the new Pirlo, but better remembered as Fagioli.”
