Crystal Palace have had a dismal campaign so far, and have also failed to recruit anyone in the January transfer window.
However, that could change, as we enter the final week before the deadline shuts next Wednesday. With just seven days remaining, this has been one of the quietest transfer windows in recent history.
A big reason for this has been financial fair play restrictions, as well as a belief that the relegation battle is all but decided, reducing the need for panic buys midway through the season.
In Palace’s case though, recruitment is simply necessary. Roy Hodgson’s side have won just once in their last 12 games, are out of both cups and have several injuries in key positions.
Several deals appear to be in the works, but until they are completed, there will always be scepticism that Steve Parish and the Crystal Palace hierarchy will do what is required to help the side improve.
Journalist drops positive Crystal Palace transfer hint
Journalist Alan Nixon has now hinted that we could see some activity from Palace in the coming days, with the squad in dire need of reinforcements.
Responding to a question on X asking about Crystal Palace’s desire to do business in this window, Nixon confirmed that they are working on deals.
“Of course,” he replied to a question asking if Palace “were working hard on deals.”
What transfers are Crystal Palace working on?

Right now, a deal to sign Genk right-back Daniel Munoz appears to be in the works, with the Colombian reportedly agreeing personal terms with Crystal Palace, in what would be a very necessary signing at right-back.
There have now also been links with Blackburn midfielder Adam Wharton, who could cost £15m, in a bid to replace the injured Cheick Doucoure.
Hodgson’s job is far from secure, and any transfers should now be made with the long-term in mind, rather than stop-gap additions on his request.
Beyond that, it will be a long week ahead for Palace fans, as reinforcements in attack would also be welcomed, and as their form simply cannot get any worse, signings may give what is currently a disgruntled fanbase a bit of an uplift halfway through the season.
