Crystal Palace will be delighted with how the summer transfer went with plenty of exciting arrivals and only a few disappointing exits.
For the Eagles, this summer was as much about retaining key players as it was about adding to the talented group currently at Crystal Palace.
Michael Olise was sold to Bayern Munich, while Joachim Andersen was sent to Fulham for £30m – but apart from these two, Crystal Palace have held onto the key players.
Now, Steve Parish has been discussing the transfer window and revealed that one thing left him astounded.
Steve Parish left astounded after summer transfer window
Heading into the summer, Crystal Palace were desperate to keep the three main stars of the club, and now with the season well underway and the window shut two of the three remain a part of Oliver Glasner’s team.
Marc Guehi was subject of interest from Newcastle throughout the summer, but ultimately a deal was not reached as Parish did not want to sell.

Eberechi Eze also remains at Selhurst Park after his release clause expired before any club made their approach.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Parish explained that he was left shocked that interest did not arrive in Eze, despite his concerns beforehand.
“I was really, really worried from a club point of view, about losing Michael and Ebs in the same window.
“We didn’t have in Ebs, the interest I thought we would have”.
“I was astounded! Genuinely astounded, the guys just an outstanding footballer and an outstanding person.
“He’d be a gift to any football club.”
After lauding Eze, Parish explained keeping Eze was a blessing, but he is well aware that at some point he will want to play at the highest level.
Something he does not think fans would hold against him considering the excellent performances he is putting in.
Ebere Eze has had an impressive start to the season for Crystal Palace
For Eze, the start to the season won’t have been ideal, with his free-kick goal being disallowed against Brentford.
This was the start of two consecutive defeats for the Eagles which left lots of work needing to be done on transfer deadline day.

Four arrivals later, the squad is in a far better place than it was, and a point against Chelsea away from home is a solid foundation for the rest of the season.
Going forward, the Eagles will have the new recruits available for selection and this could be when the season truly starts – with Eze at the very centre of the team.
