- EXCLUSIVE with Graeme Bailey
Crystal Palace have just one day left in this transfer window to get things right.
After a slow start, Crystal Palace’s summer has ended up being very busy with plenty of outgoings and incomings at the club.
As deadline day approaches there could be as many as three big exits and also three big arrivals – but the biggest deal of all looks increasingly difficult to accomplish.
Now, We Are Palace understand that Crystal Palace are holding firm in the bid to keep one star player.

Marc Guehi to Newcastle latest
The potential sale of Marc Guehi to Newcastle has dominated rumours around Selhurst Park for weeks, and now with just over 24 hours to go, We Are Palace can provide an update.

Steve Parish has stood firm and now he wants every penny out of Newcastle, it will take up to £75m is what multiple sources are informing.
We Are Palace have been told the deal is not off, but Newcastle are considering their options – Guehi is the one they want. As it stands the deal is not off, but it looks tough and this will go into the last day of the window.
This follows HITC’s report that Crystal Palace have once again upped the fee, with it being common knowledge Newcastle are remaining persistent in their bid to sign him.
Last week it was reported that Crystal Palace had even begun to privately accept selling Guehi was the smart decision – but it would appear Parish had other ideas.
Crystal Palace must only sell if it suits
Oliver Glasner will be delighted with the impending arrival of both Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal for a fee of £25m and then Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg for £18m.
These additions make the Eagles far stronger after two consecutive league defeats.
However, if Crystal Palace lose Guehi without signing a second centre-back and maybe even more – it leaves the club in a precarious position.
The Eagles could very easily sell Guehi and then sign Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah assuming he agrees to come – which would be brilliant business.
