Crystal Palace will look for consecutive wins on Wednesday night, taking on Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup at Villa Park.

There would have been an audible sigh of relief from Oliver Glasner on Sunday after he guided his Crystal Palace side to a first Premier League win of the season.

This came after a troublesome eight-game spell that saw the Eagles lose five and draw three – placing them 18th in the Premier League.

These troubles ended on Sunday with the 1-0 win over Tottenham in which it was Jean-Philippe Mateta who scored the goal, bringing back his famous celebration in the process.

For the goal, it was a moment of magic from Eberechi Eze which secured all three points – with a result which could kick-start the season.

Now we get to see if it will inspire another win against Aston Villa.

Due to this we fully expect Glasner to name a strong team – with injuries denying him his ideal line-up.

Here is our predicted XI for the game.

Dean Henderson

Starting off in goal and we fully expect that once again it will be Dean Henderson who starts as he will look to build on his clean sheet.

Trevoh Chalobah

In central defence, on the right of the three, we expect that Trevoh Chalobah will be handed another chance to start after his immaculate performance against Spurs.

Marc Guehi

In the middle of the three, we expect Marc Guehi will start – keeping the defensive group together in the hopes they will be the foundation for good form.

Maxence Lacroix

Rounding out the back three should be Maxence Lacroix, who has become a favourite with Crystal Palace fans and has earned the right to be a sure starter this season.

Daniel Munoz

On the right, Daniel Munoz starts with little rotational option – here he will look to build on his cross which led to Mateta’s goal vs Spurs.

Adam Wharton

In central midfield, Adam Wharton has been far from his best this season, despite being among the league leaders for progressive passing – he should start here.

Will Hughes

For Will Hughes, the opportunity for another run in the starting line-up could be here after Jefferson Lerma was forced off against Spurs – and Cheick Doucoure is yet to return.

Tyrick Mitchell

On the left, similarly to Munoz – Tyrick Mitchell is a victim of having very few options to afford him a rest and so probably starts here.

Eberechi Eze

In attack, Eberechi Eze is almost a surety to start – with his magic being the difference for the Eagles in the league win.

Eddie Nketiah

After Ismaila Sarr was withdrawn with a suspected injury, Eddie Nketiah could be back in the starting line-up, behind the striker.

Jean-Philippe Mateta

Finally up front should be the goal scorer against Tottenham, Jean-Philippe Mateta. It also gives him to chance to score against Villa after their summer interest in him.
