Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix has given a brilliant review of the fans in a recent interview.

Crystal Palace signed Maxence Lacroix in 2024. He reunited with former Wolfsburg manager Oliver Glasner and he’s since become a mainstay in the heart of the Palace defence.

He’s played seven times in the Premier League this season and he’s been a standout performer. Last time out, though, Lacroix gave away a cheap penalty as Crystal Palace lost 2-1 away at Everton.

Nonetheless, he’s a key player, and he’ll only become even more important for the club given Marc Guehi’s uncertain future at Crystal Palace.

It’s expected that Guehi leaves Crystal Palace as a free agent next summer. Lacroix will no doubt have to step up and potentially become the main man in defence at Selhurst Park.

Maxence Lacroix thinks the Crystal Palace fans are brilliant

Speaking with IOL, Lacroix has given his verdict on the Palace faithful. He’s explained how the players simply want to reward the fans’ brilliant support wherever they go, highlighting the away end at Anfield when Palace scored a late winner against Liverpool earlier in the season.

Lacroix said: “When you have good fans, you have to give them back also what they give you, because this is a relationship. When they are happy… when we scored the last goal against Liverpool this weekend, it was incredible. I was just looking. All people were really happy, some people crying, so it was unbelievable.”

In the following game in the Conference League, the Dynamo Kyiv players hailed the Crystal Palace supporters who packed out the away end in Lublin as the team beat Dynamo 2-0.

During the summer, Palace signed Jaydee Canvot but the young Frenchman is yet to feature in the Premier League. Now ahead of January, reports linking the Eagles with a move for Yann Bisseck at Inter Milan are heating up.

It’s recently been revealed that Bisseck is open to joining Crystal Palace in January in a bid to get himself in contention for Germany in the next World Cup.

For next season, and possibly for some years to come, it could be Lacroix and Bisseck at the back for Crystal Palace, with Guehi inevitably leaving at some point in 2026.
