Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace side have been among the worst affected by injury but this trouble could soon be easing.

This season has been a bit of a disaster for the Eagles.

If you had told Oliver Glasner in May that the 2024/25 season would start with one win in 11, he may have laughed in your face.

However, this is exactly what has happened to Crystal Palace with the South Londoners sitting worryingly 18th in the Premier League.

The win coming from an unexpected source against Tottenham made the draw to Wolves and loss to Fulham even more disappointing.

The Eagles’ chances of relegation have been rising and Glasner drastically needs to make changes ahead of a tricky run of games.

Now the Eagles manager could be set to receive a triple boost.

Oliver Glasner set for triple injury boost

While struggles for Crystal Palace are likely over-inflated as the margins are incredibly thin – the injury crisis has not helped.

So now with players returning, Glasner could be expected to improve results.

London World has now claimed that Glasner could be handed the boost of three players returning from injury.

Eberechi Eze is expected to be one returning player, while Jefferson Lerma would be a welcome midfield return. Finally, Glasner could have young defender Chadi Riad back after months on the sidelines.

Riad has been out since August when he sustained an injury during the 4-0 win over Norwich in the Carabao Cup.

Eze got injured against Villa in the Carabao Cup two weeks ago. Meanwhile, Lerma has been out since the international break in October – with his return particularly key.

Early Crystal Palace team prediction vs Aston Villa

Despite beating Villa two weeks ago in the cup, next weekend will be a drastically different challenge for Crystal Palace.

The Villians will be full strength instead of an almost second-string team, but these returns would be huge additions for the Eagles.

Glasner will start Dean Henderson in goal, with the backline likely comprising the trio of Trevoh Chalobah, Maxence Lacroix and captain Marc Guehi.

Daniel Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell should start in the wing-back slots. But in midfield we would expect change, Lerma could start, with either Cheick Doucoure or Will Hughes alongside him.

Eze should return to the starting XI, while he could be joined by Ismaila Sarr on the right. Leading the line will be Jean-Philippe Mateta as he looks to continue his hot scoring streak.
