Report shares one word to describe how Crystal Palace players are feeling after eight games without a win

The confidence within Selhurst Park is below ground zero, with eight winless games casting Oliver Glasner on thin ice.

Following Monday night’s 1-0 against Nottingham Forest, the Eagles are one of four teams without a win after eight games this season.

Crystal Palace sit 18th in the Premier League, only leading the categorical worst teams in the division on points.

There is a feeling that the Eagles are far too good for the position they are in right now – with Danny Murphy one pundit to have this view of Crystal Palace’s relegation chances.

Despite being too good for relegation – this is only on paper, and unless Oliver Glasner turns things around soon, relegation could become a very real possibility.

Now, his squad’s stance has been revealed.

How does Oliver Glasner’s squad feel about winless streak?

Such a bad run of form will always impact the players – as doubts creep in over where the next win will come from.

Glasner retains the backing of his Crystal Palace squad at least for now, however, the mood within the dressing room is far from ideal.

A recent report from The Athletic’s Matt Woosnam has delved into the dressing room and the issues plaguing Glasner’s squad.

Describing the feeling amongst players, Woosnam claimed that there is a “subdued” feeling in the dressing room.

This feeling he writes, could be shifted by the arrival of Asher Agbinone into the first-team picture, a player with excellent qualities and a hunger to succeed.

Crystal Palace next five games are key

After the eight winless games, a hopeful thinker may assume that a favourable run of games awaits Crystal Palace – however the truth could not be further.

This weekend, the Eagles will host 7th-placed Spurs who have won three of the last five games.

On November 2nd is the game Glasner will have circled as the fixture to lay down a marker and kick-start the season – against Wolves who currently sit rock bottom.

After this, the Eagles will host 10th-placed Fulham – where some momentum could make this a winnable game considering the Craven Cottage outfit have lost two on the bounce.

The fourth and fifth games will be tough though, against Champions League side and fourth-placed Aston Villa at Selhurst Park and then Newcastle at St. James’ Park.

With the next five games absolutely key to the season, Glasner will be hoping for at least between four and seven points.
