Crystal Palace have had a bizarre season with highs and lows and for one player this has been the case amid a frustrating season.
This season, Crystal Palace fans have had little to shout about, with performances under Roy Hodgson becoming tiresome and leaving the fanbase fed-up.
Ultimately, Hodgson had simply done too much damage to remain in his managerial position beyond when he did, as Palace crept closer to a real relegation battle.
Now under Oliver Glasner, Palace look safe and sound already after just three games, with points deductions elsewhere strengthening the Eagles’ position.
Glasner will now be looking forward to the return of his star player – who’s yet to feature for him – in Michael Olise, as the Frenchman could cement Palace’s safety.

Michael Olise among the best French performers this season
Olise has been a revelation this season with six goals and three assists, although, he’s also only played 11 Premier League games due to a recurring hamstring injury.
But despite that, when fit he’s proven he’s among the best and now WhoScored has shared data which shows he has been the second-best French player this season, behind only Kylian Mbappe.
With an average match rating of 7.54, he is just 0.24 behind Mbappe and leads third-placed Pierre Lees-Melou by 0.19.
This statistic just further proves how incredible he has been this season when fit enough to play, as he also ranks among the Premier League’s most regular goalscorers, with a goal every 125 minutes.
With this being the case, Olise will undoubtedly have his eyes firmly fixed on ending the season impressively in order to get that elusive France call-up for Euro 2024.
Michael Olise should get a Euros call if he ends the season well for Palace
With Olise expected to be returning over the next few weeks, he could have as many as 10 games to prove himself worth of a France call-up for the Euros in Germany this summer.
It would be his first, with only seven U21 appearances to show in his international career so far.
He is also expected to be on the move this summer, with Manchester United circling with intention to buy.
Usually, a club would be hoping to see a player do well in the Euros to raise the value for a sale, but given Olise has a release clause of around £60m, it’s probably better if a sale is done before the tournament.
This is to avoid an injury or interest being lost due to the explosion of a new star player on the wing. But regardless of this, Olise deserves his call-up this summer if he can continue like he has all season.
