Marc Guehi’s future is now the subject of wide speculation amid interest from Newcastle, but has he returned to Crystal Palace training?
For Crystal Palace, interest in Marc Guehi will come as no shock given his impressive nature and also how many clubs were showing an initial keenness.
But as we are all aware, Newcastle are closing in on signing the defender with a fee of around £60m being reported – an amount which will please the Eagles.
The move could be closer than is being let on too, with Palace already bidding for a replacement in the form of Maxence Lacroix.
But now four players have returned to Palace training, is Guehi among them?
Has Marc Guehi returned to Copers Cope
Wednesday was sign-posted as the date which would see Guehi return to Copers Cope following his extended holiday after participating in Euro 2024.
Ebere Eze was pictured early in the day returning with a smile on his face, as he looks most likely of Palace’s three stars to remain this summer.
This led to fans pondering whether he’d be joined in training by his England teammate Guehi on training amid all the speculation that the 24-year-old defender will be departing.
The Eagles answered this question for us, by posting an image of Guehi also returning to Copers Cope – much to the frustration of Newcastle fans.
This means little, as it could be a deal is struck today and he’s gone tomorrow – considering we know he is keen to move.
Who else has returned to training?
While the two England lads returned to training, they weren’t alone with Daniel Munoz and Jefferson Lerma both returning after their Copa America heartbreak against Argentina.
This means only Jean-Philippe Mateta is missing from training this week ahead of the friendly against Nantes this Sunday, although he is expected to return a week today.
We could therefore be seeing an impressive XI to face the Ligue 1 side this weekend which is almost full strength in quality.
