With just over a month until the January transfer window opens up, speculation over Crystal Palace’s potential moves will only heat up.

Despite not even being in December, already the Eagles’ transfer priorities have been made clear.

Crystal Palace are targeting two additions, a wing-back to rival Tyrick Mitchell and also a creative attacker.

However, along with these positions, Crystal Palace have also been linked with several central defenders. This may be with a view to pre-emptively replacing Marc Guehi who the club think will leave in 2025.

The Eagles currently sit 18th in the Premier League, so additions would be welcomed by Oliver Glasner – although now one director has spoken out against rumours of his player leaving in January.

Elfsborg director breaks silence on Terry Yegbe

While the Eagles will fear losing Guehi, another club who knows how that feels will be Swedish outfit IF Elfsborg.

The current seventh-placed side in the Allsvenskan has seen defender Terry Yegbe linked with a handful of Premier League sides.

Crystal Palace are among the interested teams, as reported by Fotboll Direkt last week, ahead of a possible £4.1m move.

Now, Elfsborg director Stefan Andreasson has spoken out on the move, admitting that he remains convinced Yegbe still has time to play at the Boras Arena.

“I’m sure Terry will have a long and good career outside Sweden,” Andreasson explained while speaking with local Swedish outlet Boras Tidning.

“But we are confident that he will play for Elfsborg next year as well.

“He hasn’t even played a full season for Elfsborg yet. At the same time, everyone knows that things can happen very quickly in this business.”

Yegbe has only been at Elfsborg for 11 months, and he is one of two Swedish league players currently being linked with Crystal Palace. This is as Dougie Freedman also eyes up Bazoumana Toure from Hammarby.

Yegbe would offer Crystal Palace set-pieces threat

While Yegbe would be an interesting signing, considering how raw he is in terms of his style of play, there is one major strength he would offer the Eagles.

Standing at 6ft 4in, Yegbe is an absolute giant which coupled with his strength makes him a deadly threat from set-pieces.

In the Allsvenskan through 2024, Yegbe has scored three goals with all three coming through corners – two with his head and one with his right foot.

Aside from his attacking threat, Yegbe also wins a whopping 88 per cent of his tackles which places him in the 92nd percentile in the Allsvenskan.
