Crystal Palace are already formulating plans for a busy January transfer window with numerous positions needing to be strengthened.

Crystal Palace is in the market for players this January due to winning just one game in 11 this season.

The Eagles currently sit 18th in the Premier League, with chances of relegation rising every week.

This leaves Crystal Palace a long way off Daichi Kamada’s pre-season ambitions of European football – with Oliver Glasner struggling to replicate last season’s magic at Crystal Palace.

The Eagles’ injury problems during 2024/25 have likely played a substantial role in this.

So with fears of relegation rife, January represents a huge opportunity for Crystal Palace to strengthen.

Crystal Palace to target two positions in January

With a squad which has been exposed for its lack of depth this season, the Eagles are looking to add to the team.

Already it has been reported that an attacker is on Crystal Palace’s list.

Now, according to journalist Edmund Brack, a specific attacker style is desired at Selhurst Park.

A creative attacker is the player that Crystal Palace want to bring to Copers Cope – this boding well for the interest in Romain Esse for example.

The report then mentioned the second position which the club are keen to strengthen. This was to add a left wing-back to help ease the burden on Tyrick Mitchell.

This is a position which currently has no depth and adding a player would not only give Glasner better depth, but also more natural attacking option.

Dougie Freedman must back Oliver Glasner

While doubts about Glasner’s future have been raised in recent weeks, the Crystal Palace hierarchy backs Glasner.

Both wing-back positions have been highlighted by Eagles supporters as needing to be added to and Bright Osayi-Samuel has been often linked.

However, with few other standout options around for Crystal Palace there could be a chance that a left-field option is targetted.

Tyrell Malacia of Manchester United could therefore be an option as he makes his comeback from a 17-month lay-off. Malacia would be a solid addition, and if Ruben Amorim is not sold on him it could be a great chance for Crystal Palace to add a talented wing-back.
