Crystal Palace have enjoyed a busy end to the transfer window, and they could still do more business in the next 36 hours.
To start with this week, Tuesday morning saw Palace confirm the arrival of a right-back for the first time in over 10 years. Daniel Munoz was the name and his exciting attacking ability is a huge change from the likes of Joel Ward.
Crystal Palace weren’t finished there though and are also expected to announce the arrival of Adam Wharton imminently with his medical said to be completed after he travelled to London yesterday.
Wharton is a huge coup however he won’t solve the entire puzzle on his own with a number nine also in high demand at Selhurst Park.
With Jean Philippe-Mateta potentially on his way out as Real Betis circle. With this in mind, Palace could be eyeing a late swoop for wantaway Ajax ace Chuba Akpom.

One name which has been long linked with Palace is former Middlesbrough and Arsenal man, Akpom. The forward was linked in November with a move back to England on his mind.
More recently, in the past few days, reports in Holland have begun to mention Palace once more with Voetbal International naming the Selhurst Park side as an interested party.
To add to this, Telegraaf has reported that the Dutch giants have received loan offers for their £12m summer signing. With Palace spending money elsewhere this would suit them so it wouldn’t be far-fetched to consider one of those offers is from Palace.
This has all been backed further as Ryan Taylor from The Mirror has claimed Akpom is on the cards for Palace along with Luton and Everton and so there is likely to be a real deadline day race.
Akpom has struggled at Ajax thus far after he made the move from Championship side Middlesbrough in the summer of 2023.
Akpom would love to return to English football
Returning to England would mean returning to the country where Akpom enjoyed an explosive season in just 12 months ago.
Playing under Michael Carrick at Middlesbrough, Akpom scored 28 goals and assisted two in just 40 league appearances.
This kind of goalscoring touch isn’t something that just disappears overnight so taking a punt on him could be a wise move from Dougie Freedman.
He hasn’t been awful at Ajax either with five in 13 games so if he’s available, Palace should definitely join the conversation.
