Crystal Palace’s goal-scoring problems have now brought them to Chelsea for a player with plenty of potential.
Oliver Glasner will be scratching his head at how this season has gone so far.
Crystal Palace have only scored eight goals this season – ranking the Eagles second worst in the division to only 20th-placed Southampton.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 16 | 11 | 2 | 4 | 5 | 10 | 17 | -7 | 10 | |
| 17 | 11 | 1 | 5 | 5 | 12 | 22 | -10 | 8 | |

| 20 | 11 | 1 | 1 | 9 | 7 | 21 | -14 | 4 |
This goalscoring record has left Crystal Palace 18th in the league, with relegation chances ever increasing and any momentum built during wins over Tottenham and Aston Villa has surely been killed.
Due to this, it has been reported that Dougie Freedman will “definitely” sign a forward this summer.
Now the Eagles have been linked with adding one from Chelsea on loan.

Crystal Palace reportedly approach Chelsea for Mykhailo Mudryk
With goals proving hard to come by, deciding to take Mykhailo Mudryk from Chelsea would hardly be a sure-fire solution to the problem.
Mudryk has scored just five Premier League goals in 53 Premier League games – far from a clinical scorer.

However, now the Ukrainian has been linked with Selhurst Park by Football Transfers.
It is reported that Crystal Palace have now approached Chelsea with interest in taking out-of-favour Mudryk on loan in January.
On paper, it would be a good move for the player and potentially the Eagles if Glasner can extract the potential – while Steve Parish considers £88.5m player Mudryk to be a game-changer like Wilfried Zaha.
Currently earning £100,000-a-week, the Eagles could take Mudryk on. But there is just one problem with the prospective deal.
Mudryk to Selhurst Park almost impossible
While signing Mudryk could be a masterstroke on loan and potentially even a future permanent move, there is practically zero chance it happens in January.
This is because Premier League loan rules mean the deal would never be approved.
In the Premier League handbook section V.7.5, it states that two players cannot be loaned from the same club.
“The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.”
So with Trevoh Chalobah already on loan with the Eagles, a loan for Mudryk looks impossible unless either Chalobah is purchased permanently or Mudryk is – this rumour is a real non-starter.
