With the transfer window nearing the final two weeks before it slams shut, Crystal Palace are still in the market for some additions.
The Eagles made their return to Premier League action in a 2-1 defeat to Brentford, which outlined some key issues that still need addressing from Oliver Glasner.
The Crystal Palace boss still needs his team to gel, with some new additions to the squad in the form of Daichi Kamada, Ismaila Sarr and Chadi Riad.
With the international football schedule, several important players didn’t return to pre-season action until much later, meaning it may take some time for them to get up to speed.
Then there’s the huge loss of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, which will require a huge effort from the recruitment team to replace him.
The transfer window is still open for even more additions to the team, with one Liverpool player now coming into focus.

Crystal Palace linked with Joe Gomez transfer
There has been plenty of potential movement in the Crystal Palace backline touted for the final two weeks of the transfer window.
Marc Guehi has been linked with a transfer to Newcastle, while Joachim Andersen is attracting interest from Fulham.
Should either leave, the Eagles may dip back into the transfer market to ensure they have a replacement confirmed.
Maxence Lacroix has been one player rumoured with a move to Crystal Palace, though the chances of him reuniting with Glasner appear slim now.
Then there’s versatile Liverpool defender Joe Gomez, who now appears to be on the radar at Selhurst Park this summer.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Crystal Palace are monitoring the situation of the England international alongside Aston Villa, Bayern Munich and Chelsea – while Newcastle could join the race if they don’t land Guehi.
A £45million price tag has been set on any exit for Gomez, though it remains to be seen if any club would be willing to pay that for the 27-year-old.
The centre-back, who can also play at right-back and left-back, missed out on the Liverpool squad that faced Ipswich Town in their opening match of the season as he looks set to leave the club.

Should Crystal Palace sign Joe Gomez?
There will be many questions surrounding whether Crystal Palace should make a move for Gomez this summer or not.
The first thing to consider is where he would fit in the squad, which is difficult to picture when there are many quality options available.
Should one or two backline exits be agreed, then perhaps there would be more reason to bring the Liverpool ace in.
In terms of his skillset, Gomez is a solid defender who can play well across the whole of the defence – though he lacks some more attacking traits.
Add to that a price tag that seems hefty – in the £45million range – and it’s a deal that perhaps doesn’t quite work out in the favour of Palace.
Unless there are a few changing factors, it may be one that the side are better off monitoring until the conditions are right.
