Crystal Palace have already reunited Oliver Glasner with one of his old Eintracht Frankfurt stars this summer – and another could soon be on the way to Selhurst Park.
Dougie Freedman struck a deal to reunite the Austrian with Daichi Kamada earlier this summer, and the Japan international has started well with two goals in pre-season.
Crystal Palace are also looking to bring Maxence Lacroix back to Glasner – the man from Salzburg signed the Frenchman while at VfB Wolfsburg.
In the meantime – however – talks have now started for Crystal Palace to sign another player Oliver Glasner knows well…
Crystal Palace begin Filip Kostic talks with Juventus
A story from Calciomercato now states that Crystal Palace have started talks with Juventus over a deal to sign Filip Kostic.
The Italian giants are focused on streamlining their squad this summer following the appointment of Thiago Motta, with Wojciech Szczesny already seeing his £199,000-a-week contract terminated.
Kostic – aged 31 – is another Juventus are looking to offload, and are looking for a bid of €8m (£6.8m) to sell the Serbia international.
Calciomercato explain that Glasner is ready to welcome the Juventus No.11 to Selhurst Park, and discussions are now underway.
Kostic – who has been compared to Gareth Bale – made 29 appearances in Serie A last season, providing four assists.
In 45 appearances under Glasner at Eintracht Frankfurt, the man from Kragujevac scored seven goals and assisted a further 16 – helping the German outfit win the UEFA Europa League in 2022.
Ideal Tyrick Mitchell competition
Kostic has made a name for himself as a highly creative left wing-back throughout his career, registering a total of 78 goals and 117 assists in 518 outings.
Glasner is clearly looking for a new option in that area who can compete against Tyrick Mitchell, as Crystal Palace took Ryan Sessegnon on trial before ultimately deciding not to offer the Englishman a contract – he has since returned to Fulham.
In Kostic – however – the Austrian could find an ideal option.
The Juventus No.11 will be able to offer Mitchell plenty of guidance given his vast experience of shining at left wing-back in Glasner’s system, while the Serbian is also able to play as part of the attack, so his versatility offers flexibility within the squad as well.

Kostic is admittedly turning 32 in November and does not fit Freedman’s recruitment model of snapping up young talent, but for a sum of just £6.8m, this deal seems like a no brainer for Crystal Palace.
