Crystal Palace have now missed out on the chance to sign a player from Chelsea.
Wednesday saw reports that the Eagles had turned down the chance to sign Raheem Sterling from Chelsea.
The winger has massive wage demands, which would always have made a tricky deal.
But this is not the only Chelsea player Crystal Palace have been linked with in this transfer window.

Carney Chukwuemeka won’t make the Selhurst Park switch
The crisis at Chelsea has meant several talented footballers have been left surplus to requirements.
Trevoh Chalobah is one player Crystal Palace have been interested in, with a desire to strengthen at centre-back sparking that interest – while a move cannot be ruled out yet.
But now it has been reported that the Eagles will have missed out on the chance to sign Carney Chukwuemeka.
It is according to Edmund Brack, the Eagles have now missed out on Chukwuemeka this summer.
It is also reported that there is plenty of interest in the talented midfielder, with Napoli among those keen in Italy.
With hours remaining in the transfer window, the fact Crystal Palace are not going to sign him could be more, a midfielder simply is not a priority.
This is due central defender being a position where recruitment is needed desperately. Along with this, Eddie Nketiah looks set to arrive imminently.
Crystal Palace don’t need a midfielder
While missing out on a player with the talent and potential of Chukwuemeka is not ideal – it is the right call.
Of all the positions which the Eagles could have strengthened this summer, central midfield is arguably the least needed.
Adam Wharton, Cheick Doucoure, Jefferson Lerma and Will Hughes are all strong options in midfield which means Chukwuemeka would have been more of a luxury than a necessity.
So missing out is not a huge deal for the Eagles.
