Crystal Palace have only made one signing so far this summer in the arrival of Oscar Mingueza on a free transfer.
Steve Parish is still yet to spend a transfer fee on a signing for Pierre Sage – who the Daily Mail believe wants a new attacker, central defender and central midfielder this summer.
Crystal Palace are more attractive than ever after winning the UEFA Conference League and consequently earning a spot in the UEFA Europa League – while the redevelopment of Selhurst Park shows ambition off the pitch too.
However, some players might be a bit wary of joining the Eagles after how Dwight McNeil and Christantus Uche were treated by Crystal Palace in 2026.
What are YOUR thoughts on the new home kit? 🤔
I would prefer the sash not to have white gaps, but still quite happy with it 😍
Crystal Palace must be wary of treating players poorly
At the end of the day, footballers are mere mortals too, and want to be treated with kindness as any human would.
However, that is not what Uche experienced during the second half of his loan spell from Getafe last season.
Despite playing a key role in getting Crystal Palace into the knockout stage of the UEFA Conference League with two goals in four league phase outings, the Nigerian was axed from the squad in January after the arrivals of Brennan Johnson, Evann Guessand and Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Uche made it clear several times on Instagram that he was feeling low at Crystal Palace, and was not even given chances to play in the Premier League despite the Eagles choosing to prioritise success in Europe over results domestically, having been left out of the squad for the final nine Premier League matches.

Uche has since hit out at his treatment again on Instagram since returning to Getafe.
Furthermore, it was not a great look for Crystal Palace after the aforementioned McNeil was messed around in February.
The Eagles agreed a £20m deal with Everton for the former Burnley star and he had even completed a medical, before Crystal Palace suddenly stopped all contact.
Megan Sharpley – McNeil’s partner – described it as “radio silence” and hit out at Crystal Palace, claiming the Eagles “toyed with” the Everton No.7 on transfer deadline day in February.

McNeil himself said he was totally “left in the dark” by Crystal Palace.
While we were pleased the deal collapsed at the time – as we feel the former Manchester United academy star is nowhere near good enough – nobody can justify the way he was treated.
Would you have Uche back now Glasner is gone? 🤔
He wasn't worth triggering the £17m option to buy, but there's definitely a player in there… 👀
We hope it is not the case, but considering the situations involving McNeil and Uche, it would not surprise us if some transfer targets had reservations about speaking to Crystal Palace this summer.
