Oliver Glasner may be secure in his position as Crystal Palace manager right now, but this won’t last forever.
Despite a two-game winning streak in October, this season has been a complete disaster for the Eagles manager.
Just one Premier League win along with three in the Carabao Cup after 14 games in all competitions is a poor reflection of how positive the club was before the season started.
Crystal Palace were reportedly aiming for the European spots, a realistic target based on the last few months of the 2023/24 season. Now, the Eagles’ relegation likelihood has been rising and a tough December awaits Oliver Glasner.

Crystal Palace have struggled with injuries and this is likely playing a part in why the club sit 18th. Now, one manager is said to have his eyes on taking Glasner’s job.
Ruud van Nistelrooy wants to replace Oliver Glasner
Despite a horrific start to the 2024/25 campaign, Glasner retains support from Crystal Palace’s hierarchy, with the thinking being he will repeat last season’s brilliance.
Despite this, Steve Parish will not give Glasner an unlimited amount of string – especially with solid potential replacements lining up to take his place.

Now, according to a report from Football Insider, one possible option could be the former interim head coach of Manchester United, Ruud van Nistelrooy.
It is explained that the Selhurst Park dugout position is one which the legendary Dutch striker is eyeing up as he looks for his next management role.
However, both Wolves and Southampton are also on Van Nistelrooy’s list of potential options should they be in search of a new gaffer.
What kind of a manager would Crystal Palace be getting?
While it does not seem like Glasner is in immediate danger, a continuation of this awful form would certainly prove fatal.
Changing managers would not be a universally supported decision right now, but if it were to happen, a coach like Van Nistelrooy would be exciting to see.
The 49-year-old won two trophies with PSV – the Dutch Cup and Dutch Super Cup – and so arrives with some silverware-winning acumen.
Most recently, we will all have seen Van Nistelrooy take charge at Manchester United for a four-game stretch, instantly halting the bad form of Erik ten Hag and winning three of four games – while remaining unbeaten.
Ideally, Glasner will turn things around but it is nice to see options should Parish and Co. decide to change directions.
