Crystal Palace’s rapid-fire end to the transfer window looks set to continue with a late move being weighed up for Maxwel Cornet.
This time last week, many Crystal Palace supporters were quite pessimistic over the transfer window with little prospect of any singing coming in.
However, fast forward to this week and with just over a day remaining in the window, things have taken a drastic turn and for the better in Palace’s case.
Daniel Munoz has arrived at the club, instantly improving the right back position tenfold in an £8m move. Following his footsteps looks sure to be Adam Wharton who travelled to London on Tuesday with confirmation expected imminently of his arrival.
Outside of these sure things, Chuba Akpom has been linked with a late move on loan while Hugo Ekitike as always is mentioned as an option. Now, however, another player is on Dougie Freedman‘s deadline day list. Here’s what we know about the latest player to be linked with Palace.

Crystal Palace now weighing up a move for Maxwel Cornet
West Ham United could face late interest in their versatile winger/forward/wing-back with The Telegraph now reporting that Palace hold an interest.
It is reported that Palace are looking at bringing Cornet to Selhurst Park on a six-month loan. The Ivory Coast international would be a great addition to Roy Hodgson‘s squad given how versatile he is.
He’d provide cover for a few positions and probably start if he hits the ground running. The 27-year-old has become available as David Moyes eyes a replacement before the transfer window closes.
Cornet is a player Pep Guardiola has once been left in awe of back in 2018 when Manchester City met Lyon in the Champions League. The legendary coach admitted he was impressed by the talent of ‘impressive‘ Cornet.
Selhurst Park set for a blockbuster end to the January window
In 32 hours time from this article being published, the transfer window will be slamming shut and by then Palace could have added as many as three to their squad possibly.
Wharton is sure to be added and could even be announced this evening, but on deadline day, late swoops for Akpom and Cornet could be huge additions that might be the difference maker in the battle for survival.
Adding goals up front and a player capable of impressing across the park could be vital and could see a luxury of options for Hodgson to see out his final half season at the helm.
