Crystal Palace had a busy summer transfer window with seven new players added into the ranks. But chances are plenty more work will be needed in 2025.
The manner in which the 2024/25 season has started has been a shock and the club will likely be equally as shocked as European football was said to be the target.
Crystal Palace had made a handful of excellent transfers in the summer, which meant Paul Merson’s relegation warning was laughed off at the time.
But now we are almost a quarter of the way into the season and the Eagles sit 18th in the league table, with relegation concerns growing over the rest of the campaign.

Due to this, we imagine that eyes are already on where can be strengthened in 2025. Well thinking along these lines, Steve Parish already has one position sorted and it could save him millions.
Crystal Palace don’t need to buy Matt Turner
For Crystal Palace, the goalkeeper position was one that needed attention on deadline day with Sam Johnstone making the switch to Wolves.
Following this, the Eagles had to move swiftly and did so to complete the loan signing of Matt Turner from Nottingham Forest.
This means a new back-up goalkeeper will be needed next summer, with Turner either being bought or sent back to Forest upon his loan expiring.
If searching for a new No.2, Crystal Palace should look no further than loanee Joe Whitworth who has been in immense form for Exeter City.
Whitworth has been stunning for his loan side, keeping a third consecutive clean sheet in his last outing, a very impressive streak which shows he is a solid keeper, thriving at his current level.
Whitworth will have competition however from Owen Goodman who has been immense for Wimbledon this season.

At just 20 years old, already Whitworth has the hallmarks of being a top-tier goalkeeper and has been without a doubt the best goalkeeper in League One and an excellent option to back-up Dean Henderson in the coming years.

So far this season, Whitworth has kept five clean sheets while conceding six goals through playing eight games. He has also saved the only penalty he has faced.
Quite miraculously he has prevented 4.88 goals already this campaign – saving 84.2 per cent of the shots he has faced (32 saves in total) as per FotMob.
He has made eight sweeping actions which is more than any goalkeeper in the league. Meanwhile, he has also been immense on the ball, completing 52 long balls with a pass accuracy of 74.8 per cent.
